In 2002, Ministry of Textiles, Govt.of India announced the Apparel Parks Scheme to create world class apparel manufacturing facilities in the country to boost export of apparels Mr.Sakthivel, President, Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA) seized of this opportunity and conceived a project to establish an Apparel Park in between Avinashi and Perumanallur on NH 544 about 15 kms. from the center of Tirupur town.
The proposal was sent to the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, New Delhi through the Government of Tamilnadu. The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India approved the proposal in October 2002.
It is on the National Highway 544.
Nearest airport Coimbatore is less than an hour's drive.
NH 544 connects Cochin port directly, Chennai and Tuticorin through a network of National Highways.
Two private ICDs are within 10 kms.
It is just 5 kms. from the periphery of Tirupur town that produces more than 60% of knitwear exported from the country and has all the supporting facilities like knitting, dyeing, printing etc.
It is close to Tirupur and hence access to raw materials and other inputs is easy.
Labour is available in plenty from the numerous villages around the Park.
It is well connected by a rapid road transport system to all towns in all directions. It is very well connected to International Airport, Coimbatore within 35 kms with 30 mts Travelling Distance and NHAI developed Six way track.
